first day back in the Gym

Went to the Gym first time in ages.

Gained some 6 kilo during my relapse, more importantly that lousy feeling of laziness, of getting-old-before time. Of self-destruction. I so hated it.

Not even did I enjoy going today, I also remembered that simple little trick to keep me going. At returning from the Gym, empty and reload the Gym Bag. Put the fresh bagย in the back of car ASAP. Voila, one of my biggest excuses for procrastination is simply gone. TRY IT ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have aย  wonderful weekend out there. I will. Friday afternoon and no cravings. Both kids arriving in a few hours and Sober Daddy is so looking forward.

  1. Yep..exercise works doesn’t it! I love being able to work out without a hangover…and almost a year ago I would still work out but then “reward” myself with wine…now how crazy was that??

    Me being a MAMIL (Middle-Aged-Man-in-Lycra – !) returning from road-bike-trips, heading direct for the Fridge for the cold beers on the Terrasse even before heading for the Shower ! Beautiful memories, simply Beautiful ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Oh man I can relate…am a roadie too and nothing was ever better than cold beer at the end of a ride and yes even before shower! But over the summer I learned to have a cold soda ( don’t normally drink it) and something salty like chips…all while being in the bar with everyone else downing beers after rides…I could have had a n/a beer but I know myself and where that would lead…nothing that tastes like beer or wine can pass my lips or 11 months os sobriety will go to hell…I know because I’ve been there and done that. You have a cool blog..glad I found it.


  3. ive been walking at the park (omg I even jogged yesterday!) and it feels great. id love to work out at a gym, but im poor and I have no clue how to. lol have fun with your kids and have a great sober weeked!

  4. I love your positivity mate! I aim to get back in the gym when it all settles down slightly, I’ve done the opposite – I’ve actually lost weight since I’ve been binging on the booze! Lost a lot of muscle. Small steps, brother.
